- <p>Asparagus has always been grown in the fields known as <strong>Sorres of Gavà (Gavà Sands)</strong>. This particular asparagus is a <strong>white</strong>, long, medium-sized variety with a fibrous texture. Its distinctive, slightly bitter taste owes itself to the characteristics of the <strong>soil of the Baix Llobregat</strong> region, which is sandy and loose, and to the local climate, which is warm during the harvesting period. Try some at the Gavà Asparagus Fair, which has been held for more than 60 years.</p>
